ASOS Socks | BCBGeneration Boots | Tribal Necklace
Hi there loves! If you’re reading this, I just want to start this post saying thank you for visiting my page! I appreciate you taking the time out to actually come and read my blog and my thoughts besides my Instagram captions. There’s a special place in my heart for those of you who really rock with me and actually visit my site. It really brightens my day! Let me know you’re here! Comment below!
You know what else brightens my day? Yellow. With the change in seasons and temperatures, I usually find myself in a bit of a bad mood. And by bad, I mean slightly sad and/or depressed. The amount of sunshine usually dictates whether I’m going to be happy and have a good day or be miserable and irritable instead. ◊ Tip: Adding a drop of color during those dark and gloomy fall/winter days is a great way to improve your mood. Usually yellow items do that for me!
I’m wearing this cheap $10 midi dress paired with this amazing tribal necklace! A street vendor in Harlem was selling this beauty for $30 and I just couldn’t resist. It’s crazy that she didn’t even have this piece front and center; I had to dig for it! ◊ Tip: If you ever want some African-inspired flare, Harlem is really the place to go! So many African accessories and shops! This necklace is a gorgeous statement piece. Throw it over any plain old item and you’ve got yourself a look.
On top, I’ve layered two outerwear pieces – a thrifted, oatmeal cardigan and a mustard coat. Turns out I could have done without the cardigan on this day; it actually wasn’t cold outside. And my coat was part of a Christmas gift from the boyfriend. He knew I wanted a yellow coat in my life and he supplied. Thanks boo!
I finished the look with some old speckled gray knee high socks and cowboy style boots. Both super old purchases; I’ve owned them for forever now.
So ladies, my last tip? ◊ Tip: stop limiting certain colors to certain seasons! When you’re wearing a color outside of this season’s “norm”, it’s super easy to turn heads and look ridiculously fashionable. Always seek color! 😉
Until next time!
