As I mentioned before, I attended my mom’s master’s graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 14th. It was such an exciting time! My older sister who is in the army actually flew in from Seattle to attend! Meaning, I got to not only do my make-up, but a bit of my mom’s and sister’s as well! 😁 Playing in make-up is ALWAYS a fun time!
Check out pictures of my mom and sister below!
It was so nice to see my mom walk across that stage! And to graduate summa cum laude? We’re all very proud of her!
As for what to wear when attending a graduation that’s not your own, it’s best to keep your outfit pretty casual. I decided to wear a nice dressy top, jeans, and of course heels. ◊ Tip: No need to be extra if it’s not your special day!
I like the sequin embellishment of this top. It’s so flashy that there’s no need to wear a statement necklace. This top also has a cut out v-neck back, adding another cute touch. And I love that it’s flowing, sheer fabric. With all the running around that accompanies graduation, I much rather be comfortable throughout the day. ◊ Tip: I ordered a size Medium so that the neck wouldn’t be too tight; the neck is perfect.
Underneath, I’m wearing the same $5 gold top from Golden Reputation. I like the glittering effect it produces underneath this shirt.
My hair is my go-to straight hair wig. Learn more about it in a future post! Note: The actual day of graduation I was finally allowed to wear Yani; Mom’s a grad-zilla lol.
Moreover, my olive colored jeans are my 5th addition to my Fashion Nova jean collection. I guess I love Fashion Nova jeans that much! ◊ Tip: Be sure to check out YouTube reviews of Fashion Nova to receive 15% off discount codes! Or even follow Fashion Nova’s Instagram for occasional 20% & 25% off discount codes! I NEVER buy their jeans full price!
Lastly, my shoes of choice are wedges. Most graduation ceremonies are held outside on a lawn. As you already know, skinny/stiletto heels are a no-no on grass; you’ll just sink in. ◊ Tip: Stick to chunkier heels or wedges for an outdoor graduation. They’re more comfortable than stilettos anyways!
