It’s still pretty hot in NYC so I can still pull out those short shorts whenever I want to, right?! Right! And again, if you couldn’t tell by the 50 million pics posted that I love this outfit, you must not know me by now! lol
For today’s look, I’m channeling my inner hippie, similar to one of my first hippie looks after starting NC4OT – How To Wear: 70s Trend Flared Pants. And actually, that look is still one of my favorites. So if you need more hippie psychedelic inspiration, click the link! Anyway, onto the deets on this outfit…
My rainbow crochet halter top is an old purchase from 2010. Yup, I’ve held on to this top for that long. It’s one of those items I figured would come back in style later and I was right. Here we are in 2016, and I’ve spotted plenty of style bloggers wearing this similar crochet pattern to Coachella and other festivals. Whenever you see an item that can stand the test of time, hold on to it! Even if I don’t wear this top on a daily basis, I can always be a hippie for halloween or a costume party! Or even wear it to the beach, a music festival, or even a concert! Anyway, I’ve tucked in my top because it’s too long for the shorts, but there are “sunbursts” crocheted along the bottom (similar to the alternative links I’ve provided)!
My shorts are a pair of Forever 21 shorts I picked up on a recent thrifting trip. New shorts for $6! And would you believe that my pink Doc Martens were again an old purchase from a thrift store!? I could hardly believe it when I saw them. Only $25, perfect condition, and a size 7! Unreal. I bought them around the time that they were popping up everywhere, during the era of Nicki Minaj’s “Superbass”. Lastly, my sunnies are a random pair of pink sunglasses from many years ago. I’ve included two options for these sunglasses. One being an exact replica of the ones I’m wearing here and the other, a more stylish pair, in my opinion, to choose from!
Until next time!
