Day Two of my girls’ trip consisted of sight seeing/road tripping from Vegas back to LA. I wanted my outfit to be colorful, like in Styling Ronke Raji’s Hashtag Hat, and beachy in case I did make it to the beach later that day. This outfit made me feel so glamorous. Exactly how I want to feel on vacation!

We started our day walking the Vegas strip looking for bottomless brunch only to be met with ridiculous prices and/or family style buffets, and I mean, $30 for a buffet and an additional $30 to your bill for 2 hr unlimited mimosas. I would have coughed up the money, but my friends weren’t feeling it. It’s a good thing I have smart friends because I’d be even more broke now.

We even looked around The Venetian for food before we decided to pick up some $13 alcoholic slushies and venture back to Grand Lux Cafe near our hotel for breakfast. If you didn’t know Grand Lux = Cheesecake Factory = great food, large portions, and a cheap bill! I had my first ever beignets during breakfast, but they tasted more like funnel cake. So I’m not sure how authentic these were. I’ll definitely have to make a trip to New Orleans! 😉 However, I must say The Venetian is amazing! At one point, you feel you’ve entered a new world with sky-painted ceilings, Roman-esque architecture, and gondolas rowing across streams of water, ALL in the midst of a shopping mall. My YouTube Vlog will give you a better idea of what I mean, but it felt like I was back in Italy! After a good meal at Grand Lux, most of our day was devoted to our road trip back to Cali and a quick stop to Venice Beach near sundown. We had all visited Venice Beach before so we weren’t amazed, but our road trip was a great bonding experience!

About the Outfit

You would have spotted this floppy straw hat before, my new favorite sunhat. My graphic t-shirt is a funny purchase from Rainbow. If you didn’t know, I’d choose the latter option 😉.  Food is life. Also, don’t sleep on Rainbow stores! They’re cheap and full of gems within! My skirt is actually a scarf! It’s big enough to make a large headscarf or to wear around my waist. Black shorts underneath protected the goodies in case of a heavy breeze, but otherwise, wearing this scarf really elevated this look. I love all the colors! I finished this look with brown wedges for height [and later brown sandals for the beach], my oversized clutch given to me as a gift from Wendy Williams Show, and some sunnies! Such a cute summer outfit! Along with Ronke Raji’s hashtag hat, this look is another one of my summer favorites!

Continue to Day Three!
