Three of my college friends and I planned a girls’ trip over 4th of July weekend, visiting Las Vegas and Los Angeles! The trip was so fun, and I definitely miss them already! Spending some time in Vegas and Cali was much needed and made me want to travel more, but funds aren’t going to allow that kind of extravagance! This weekend trip will have to do!

I arrived in LA around 10 pm after the craziest flight of my life. Due to NYC thunderstorms, not only was my flight delayed repeatedly, about 5-7 times in a row, but I was also placed in a middle seat, behind a crying baby, and next to a nervous flyer. Just when I seemed to fix one problem, mean-mugging the baby until he stopped crying, the next problem arrived. And yes, I am not above side-eying a baby. When you’re stuck on the tarmac for 2 hrs with a baby crying for no reason other than attention, I dare you to say you wouldn’t do the same! He was driving me crazy! Moreover, I’m not usually influenced by nervous flyers, but it was raining, there was some turbulence, and my neighbor gripped her seat handles for dear life as she stumblingly prayed in Spanish. She made me wonder if I should start anxiously praying too! Will my life flash before my eyes any minute?!

I landed A LOT later than expected, but I survived in one piece to start our road trip to Vegas bright and early the next morning!

About The Outfit

For now, let’s just get into this outfit’s details. First thing on our agenda was to attend a Vegas pool party! And of course, it was 100°F outside!

My outfit is fairly simple, but looks more elaborate than it actually is. Gotta thank the fringe belt for that. Many retailers sell fringe belts in varying lengths for different prices. I remember seeing this exact belt on an Instagram boutique for $50 and thought, “hell no, not when I’m sure this belt comes from China, and can be found on eBay for cheap”. So, I planned to search eBay before I spotted this belt for only $20 in EXPO 2000 while shopping in downtown Brooklyn. It’s one size fits all, and perfect to wear over shorts, skirts, and dresses. It adds flair to the simplest item, like a pair of black spandex shorts. I’ve included a link to buy your fringe belt from Love Culture for only $19.95! If you don’t mind waiting for shipping, eBay may be your cheapest bet!

My crop top is an ordinary crochet lace top. I do prefer a v-neck cut more than a rounded edge in my tops. My purse is a cute little winking face! I love a strange purse! And my flatforms you would have noticed in How To Wear: Joggers, giving me extra height and much needed sparkle. This was a perfect outfit for a Vegas pool party! It’s cute and more importantly, different. Besides not having my summer body ready lol, wearing a swimsuit would have been just too expected. With this fringe belt, I look like I’m wearing a Hawaiian grass skirt! Try a crop top and this fringe skirt combo at your next pool party!
