Hiiii class! Today’s outfit is brought to you by the letter, S. S as in SLAY. Lol. Something about this outfit makes me feel sophisticated and intelligent. I’m getting school teacher vibes! Like Mary Poppins! Or uh, Julie Andrews in “Sound of Music”. All I’m missing is a vintage bike and a herd of kids. You feel me? Yeahhh you feel me. Welcome to the 1st of 3 outfits I plan to feature in my Back To School series!

Anyway, what really brought this outfit together were my non-prescription transparent glasses. Besides making me feel like a pretty nerd, without them, the outfit just looked off! My face just looked too plain! And I hate that feeling of plain! Hence, my nose ring, my slight interest in septum rings, and my 9 other body piercings. Lol but that’s besides the point. The effect of a simple pair of specs goes to show you that one minor accessory can really make a huge difference! Trust me!

The rest of this outfit came together as a happy accident really. My collab with Short & Tailor encouraged me to embrace monochrome and neutral colors again. My black and white striped top is what I consider a basic in my closet. Just a top to put on when I feel I have nothing to wear. My gold skirt, courtesy of my mom’s closet. Yeahh I just walked by her room and grabbed it. Lol it fits, but it’s only slightly loose on my waist. So, I added this belt I picked up yearssss ago while thrifting. It’s my favorite belt for the hanging chain link. My oxford shoes are again an oldie but goodie. I debated buying these when I first saw them 2 years ago and now I have no regrets. They’re a soft pleather material. My straw hat I picked up about 3 years ago in an airport. And my purse, a gift from my grandmother. I definitely needed a small, black crossbody so this baby really comes in handy!

I love this school teacher hippie look! I may have to rock these glasses a little longer. Anyway, stay tuned for the next outfit in my Back To School series!
